The DAA Ride Out: 2018

0 Comments Motorcycling   (on 25-Jun-2018 03:34 AM)

Every year in July, the Devon Air Ambulance welcomes hundreds of bikers plus spectators into a massive assembled drive that ends in an afternoon of live entertainment. The perfect fundraiser for motorcyclists and a great way to connect with other drivers for a good cause, Trago Mills has been part of the day for many years and we’re proud to be involved again!

Taking place on the 15th of July (a Sunday), the ride-out starts at 8:30 take an approximately 80-mile route through the Devonshire countryside before an afternoon of live entertainment at The Den in Teignmouth. This is the 13th ride out and participation is likely to exceed 1,000 riders, making it an impressive spectacle!

The 2018 Ride Out: What’s New?

Fresh for 2018, there will now be two start locations for the ride out. This gives participants a choice about where they take part.

Trago Mills Newton Abbot is proud to be a starting location once again, being a convenient stone’s throw from the route. There will be plenty of refreshments like that all-important bacon buttie available from our stands, plus a display of our Trago2Wheels bikes and gear. Additionally, the petrol station will be open so you can fill up on our great petrol prices before beginning the drive.

There is now an alternative for bikers starting closer to the North of the county, at Evans Transport Ltd in Bideford.

Starting at 8:30am for registration, the first group of bikes will intend to set off at 10:30am.

The rides destination is The Den in Teignmouth. Entertainment will begin as the first bikers arrive at about 1pm. This afternoon is free and open to all, with refreshment stalls and live music playing. All in all, a grand day out that is also a spectacular mass biking extravaganza!

Want to Get Involved?

If you’re a biker across Devon (or further afield) looking for an excellent afternoon and a great way to raise money for a worthy cause then it’s easy to get involved.

You can sign up quickly and easily on the Devon Air Ambulance website here. There’s a standard entry fee of £5 for each rider and we encourage additional fundraising and sponsorship to raise more essential funds. Make sure you have a look at the terms and conditions of the event before signing up.

Each rider will get a free commemorative T-shirt (you can choose your size on the websites booking form) which is available for collection from 8:30am on the day. If you are a pillion rider than you can purchase an additional shirt from the starting point.
